We’ve been so busy videotaping and recording our podcasts, that we’ve neglected our class blog. But if you visit our website, we are trying out a new blog that is linked to our website. Hopefully, you’ll see students posting soon on this, stay tuned! 
Brent, Lindsey, Jared, and Jilyan went to the technology fair. We did lots of stuff on the smartboard. We ate pizza for lunch. We saw 6th graders taping on the computer. There were “beebots” there. They are little robots. We had so much fun! We would like to go back! – by Jared
First, I did a handshake in morning meeting. Second, I played beanbag toe tag in PE. In music, we heard Japanese. Third, we learned how to podcast. Last, we got to see Mr. Mathes in his office. We had a video conference and read him a poem. It was really exciting! – by Drake
Today was the 100th day of school!! We learned about the state amphibian, the Tiger Salamander. In PE, we got to go explore outside!! It was so nice out! We had a super 100th day of school.
Today we played “Sparkle” to review our spelling words. We played “Telephone” in morning meeting. In writing, some of us got started on our How-To books. During readers workshop, we read Wait! No Paint! It was like The Three Little Pigs. We played with the parachute in PE. We all hope our sick friends feel better soon!

Today was Grant’s birthday! He brought granola bars and juice for a yummy treat! In writing, we worked on the stories we are publishing for our writing celebration tomorrow! In PE, we played volleyball scooters. Today was a very good day!
We are excited to start another semester of learning. We learned about hermit crabs in reading. We read the story Moving Day. In social studies, we learned about leaders. The governor is the leader of our state. In math, we learned about doubles facts. Happy New Year!
It has been awhile since we’ve blogged! We went to the library for indoor recess. We read Ira Sleeps Over in readers workshop. We practiced for our Christmas program which is TONIGHT!! We are super excited for the concert. We had a good day and are ready for tomorrow!
At recess we couldn’t go outside because it was snowing. So, we played games inside! Our goal in writing workshop was to write a whole story during class. Most of us could do it! In social studies, we learned about animals that live in South Africa. During math, we worked on graphs. In reader’s workshop, we made text-to-self connections with our books.
